The dean of the law school is Rudolph Hasl; Ceremonially, the Dean of TJSL also holds positions as a professor and as the President of the school.
Notable faculty members include William Slomanson, who authored the textbook on California Civil Procedure used widely throughout the state, as this subject was added to the California Bar Exam effective July 2007.
Thomas Jefferson School of Law is a private, independent nonprofit law school, fully approved by the ABA.
A notable alumna is Bonnie Dumanis, the current San Diego County District Attorney. Deborah Jeane Palfrey, who completed a nine-month paralegal course at what is now Thomas Jefferson, founded Pamela Martin & Associates, a Washington, D.C. escort service. Among her clients was Randall L. Tobias, former deputy secretary of state in the Bush Administration.
