Facts: Plaintiff was a police officer who had information that would help recover some stolen jewelry. Plaintiff agreed to share that information in exchange for the reward of the stolen goods. After the items were recovered, the reward wasn't paid.

Procedural History: Plaintiff brought suit to recover the promised reward. District court awarded Plaintiff amount of reward. Defendant appealed.

Issue: Was the plaintiff acting in performance to his public duty as a police officer?

Holding: Plaintiff was just doing his job and could not collect the reward.

Judgment: Reversed.
