The law school is fully [[School accreditation|accredited]] by the [[American Bar Association]] and is a member of the [[Association of American Law Schools]].

Chapman Law opened in [[1995]], and is a part of [[Chapman University]], a [[private university]] that traces its roots to [[1861]].  Originally housed in leased office space off-campus, the School of Law moved to the University's downtown Orange campus when it opened its own building, the state-of-the-art Donald P. Kennedy Hall, in [[1999]].

Chapman Law is listed in the 4th Tier of ''[[US News and World Report]]'''s annual law school rankings. Chapman Law is the only law school in Orange County located on a university campus, and is the second of 3 fully accredited, ABA Approved law schools in [[Orange County, California]]. 

Chapman University’s School of Law has a faculty of thirty-three, three of whom are former clerks to U.S. Supreme Court justices, a law library with holdings in excess of 279,000 volumes and volume equivalents, and a curriculum that offers training in core courses and electives.
